: : : Does any one remember, Izzy the Knish man who used to sell the greasy knishes near the train station on Pennsyvlania Avenue, the greasier the better and the Kosher Deli corner of Pennsylvania and Livonia Avenue, how about when Fortunoff used to be on Livonia Avenue, the Jeff field, the bonfires, the best pizza on new lots avenue, the Biltmore theatre, you went on Sat afternoon no matter what was playing. The circle in the Linden Projects. The YMHA on Linden Boulevard, what ever happened to the bands that played there, Mike Denson and the other names elude me. The teachers at PS 190, Mrs. Lund, the teachers at JHS 166, Miss Kennedy who always told you to get out of the room when we mis-behaved. Those were the days...SHERRY CENER

: : Izzy sold the best knishes, they were called Mom's Knishes. Which was the best pizza place on New Lots Ave Frans or Nino's. Everyone went to the Biltmore and Joe's Pickle Store across the street from Fortunoffs used to smell so divine you were forced to go in there and buy a pickle for 10 or 15 cents.
Does anyone remember the candy store across the street[Livonia ave] from the deli? The pool room across from Fortunoffs? The Supreme theater? Jeff in the late 40s early 5os?
