Not in my neighborhood. I grew up playing stickball, punchball, and stoopball in Borough Park, Brooklyn.
Spaldeens held up much better than the Pennsy Pinkie, and if they split eventually, it was because they
got more use. The Pennsy Pinky rubber wasn't evenly distributed so that it often took a bad hop, and it
didn't have that great texture of the Spaldeen that let you grip it
better for a pitch. The Spalding also bounced higher and all in all
just FELT BETTER!
