Don't mean to belabor the point for those who are now bored of these messages, but we are changing
our messaging system within the next few days. The new system is already functional, and you can
sign up for it and use it now. It may take a smallf effort to accustom yourself to the new system, but once you
do you will be pleased at how much more versatile and powerful it is. Of course, we'll leave the current
board up, as well, but it will become an auxiliary system.

Before you can access the ENY Projects main messaging center you will need
to register. Registration will enable us to keep our site and our discussion
pure, free from interference by the wider web community, and when necessary,
private. Remember, we request that you register to PROTECT your privacy, not
to invade it.
Registration is simple. Please just go to the Messaging Center portal page at:
(http://www.eventhorizon.com/enyprojects/center/
and click on the words "The Main Boards." If you are a new user
click on the "new user" button and fill out the form.
**IMPORTANT:We request that
in the space called "home page" you provide some authenticating detail --ie,
former building and apartment, former graduating class from one of the ENY
schools, etc. This will be required before we can approve you for "The Inner
Circle," the one message board that will be visible only to authenticated
community members.
After you fill out the form, make sure to check the space indicating the
browser must remember your password. This will provide you with instant
entree to the boards; you'll also receive an email of your login and
password. Be sure to print it out and save it.
Each "conference" or bulletin board in the Group Email and Conferencing
Center exists as a mailing list and a bulletin board. Everything you post to
the board will be emailed to those who request it; conversely, you need
never visit the board to participate. You can send and receive messages
totally by email, if you want. Your email messages will be automatically
posted to the board for you. On the other hand, if you prefer checking
boards on the web, just do not sign up for the email feature. Simple.
To request the email option, please click on "More..." at the top nav bar
inside the Center and go to the "Email Notify" option. The menu is pretty clear.
Current bulletin board topics include:
COLLECTIVE MEMORY. The Main Board. Visible to the public but available for
posting only to members
LOST FRIENDS. If you are looking for a friend, post here. Visible to
everyone but available for posting only to members.
*THE INNER CIRCLE. This board will be COMPLETELY INVISIBLE unless you are a
pre-approved member of our community. If anything of a very sensitive nature
appears on the other boards, ie, if we're naming too many names, etc., I'll
move it here. At your discretion, you can post sensitive issues here too.
You will automatically be approved for membership in the INNER CIRCLE once
we determine that you are in fact an authentic community member.
FAST FORWARD. On Life Today. Again, visible to the public BUT only members
can post.
ANNOUNCEMENTS. Births, Deaths, Promotions, Theater Debuts, Publications,
etc. Posting for members only.
BUILDING CHECK POINT. You can sign in by building, and I'll create some
subcategories here for the private row houses and ENY points beyond Linden
Blvd. As with others, visible but posting for members.
I'm sure we've left things out, and will expand on these instructions based
on your questions. If you have trouble accessing the main boards I suggest
you contact the Webmaster. If you have trouble using the boards, be sure to
access the "Help" section within; it's quite elaborate. You are, of course,
free to continue using the old bulletin board system for as long as you like.
