The ENY Projects Web Hangout is, of course, your personal spot on the web. But it is also a model web community designed to deliver state-of-the-art community-building web tools. As is always the case with new technology in this emerging medium, things do not work perfectly. Routers from one part of the internet to another can go down temporarily. Servers sometimes need to be rebooted.
We are delivering the infratructure technology with 2WayTV --true state-of-the-art-- but this is not yet real TV, and you will sometimes face frustrations.
The best thing to do if this occurs is to email the webmaster so that we can troubleshoot the system. If you are having a problem, then we are having a problem, and it is in all our best interest to resolve.
That said, you will find you have LESS trouble if you access the internet on a browser other than one supplied by AOL. It is easy to do, even if you sign on via aol, simply by downloading the latest netscape browser at http://www.netscape.com/ First download the browser and install it in your system. Then sign on through aol, as usual. Instead of going to the internet through the aol browser, however, just execute the Netscape Browser. You will find that your enjoyment not just of this site, but of the entire Internet, is greatly improved.
We find that, in general, Netscape Browswer still works better than Explorer.
Of course, finding an non-AOL ISP is an even better solution, but you don't want to make your life too complex. (Still there is now a pager that enables you to IM all your aol friends whether you are an aol member or not, and it's completely free._ Please do register for the main boards --if you have trouble, email the webmaster. We will register for you, and access should be fairly simple after that. Also remember to register for the mailing list so that you can be certain that we will alert you to any important changes.
Other tips if you have trouble:
-Check to make sure your browser allows cookies
-Check to make sure you are not behind a firewall (as many may be at the office.)
-Check to make sure your browser is java-enabled.
-Check to make sure you are not on a proxy server. (again at the office)
-Finally, email webmaster if you are having a problem.
