Bob Teets
Author of UFOs and Mental Health

We had a chat with him on Tuesday, December 2, 1997. You can read a transcript here.

Bob Teets is challenging the mental health profession to meet the UFO experience head-on. He wants practioners to develop effectice interventions for clients seeking relief from perceived UFO experiences. His new book, UFOs and Mental Health, is designed for therapists unfamiliar with this phenomenon. Says Teets: "This phenomenon displays enigmatic properties not readily explained by extant human inquiry, but it also seems to include elements suggesting human complicity or even human origination. The implications of human and alledgedly of 'non-human' involvement can often lead to a menacing awareness in people's lives."

Bob Teets won more than 30 state and national press awards as a journalist in West Virginia in the 1980s. Teets then started Headline Books and in 1995 published an account of UFOs in his homestate called West Virginia: Close Encounters in the Mountain State. He has interviewed more than 2,500 UFO witnesses and has published highlights of these encounters in his newsletter, The American UFO Newsletter. Teets has a B.S. in journalism from West Virginia University and is a trained hypnotherapist (M.Ht.) and Spiritual Releasement Therapy practitioner in private practice.

UFOs and Mental Health (1997, 110 pp., $8.95) is available from Headline Books, Terra Alta, West Virginia.
