: Yes, I remember much about P.S. 273 and could probably spend weeks
: reminiscing about the 2 1/2 years I spent there.
: I remember Dr. Nevins. As a matter of fact, I used to like
: to imitate his W.C. Fields-type way of speaking.
: In fact, I discovered a reel-to-reel tape last year
: dating back thirty years--of me, making fun of Dr. Nevins
: and some teachers. (I had it transferred to a cassette
: and played it for friends.) I had Miss Gunther,
: Miss Schumacher and Mrs. Levin (aka Zanana).
:Well of course we all must remember Dr. Nevins. Remember when he would get on the intercom and tell the student in the back of the room to please sit down, and every time you would turn around there was always someone back there. And then there was his famous time he told us we were having a guest visitor in from Yogoslavia (but he elaborated on the pronunciation as Jooooogo glavia). Of course then there was Mr. Bailey. I actually worked for him as the Art Supervisor for the school. It was my selections that were used to supply the halls of the building. Lastly, does anyone remember Mrs Klein and the fact that we all got to take Russian while in 3, 4, & 5 grades.
Dastvadanya to you all!!
