The 3 Steves (Steve Lang, Steve Halfon and Steve Shenker) had started the reunion in motion. Comments: I lived at 215 Wortman until I married Charlie Gerena, who lived on Cozine & is the brother of GG, in 1972. I graduated Jefferson in '70. Unfortunately, Charlie suffered a benign brain tumor in Feb. '02, was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) in Dec. '03, and suffered cardiac arrest on OCT. 15, 2004. He is now in a coma at Woodmere Rehab & Healthcare facility. He has always meant the world to me and our 2 boys, ages 26 & 21. He won't be able to see our older son get married next week. i graduated Blidersee JHS in 1989 and i had a good year there because i had great teachers,and there were different many people to get along with,but i would like to find some old friends from that school.mr lurie was a great resource teacher taught me everything i knew.that school was the best jhs around.

I am going to have Eileen Kovensky Schneider over with her husband for lunch this Sunday, May 2. To say that we haven't seen eachother for years is an understatement, but just talking to her on the phone erased all the time gone by. Eileen and I were introduced to eachother by my grandfather when we were 3 years old on Vermont Street. I'm just updating to be sure my e-mail address is posted correctly. I've been fairly active on the website recently, posting my opinions regarding the tribute for Rabbi and Rebbetzen German. I lived at 857 Schenck Ave from 1960 until 1970, went to JHS 149 for most of the 7th grade before moving into the Projects, then went to JHS 166 (Gershwin), and Jefferson HS, graduating in 6/65. I've been married for 25 years and we have two daughters, ages 8 and 10. My younger brother Irwin lives in Brooklyn with his wife of 20 years. They have 2 grown children. Dad died in 2/69 and Mom has been married 30 years to another Brooklynite. They are snowbirds, living winters in Florida. I've attended several reunions over the years, the last about 2 years ago at a Suffolk County park. I'm in contact, primarily via e-mail, with several people from the 'hood. I've recently been very nostalgic, partially due to the natural aging process and partially because of the posts regarding Rabbi German. It brings back a flood of memories.

I'm Joe Munoz - my family moved when I was 5 from Lafayette in Bed Stuy to ENY projects in 1968. Lived at 245 Cozine (6A) from 68-69 and then 295 Cozine (6G) 70-74. Went to P.S. 273 (I remember Mrs. Fuchs - had her in 3rd & 5th grades, Mrs. Shapes, Mrs Spitzer) Moved to Dallas, Texas in 1974. Went back with my family last year - tried riding the B83 from IRT at Pennsylvania Ave as I remembered it, but didn't go the same route as I remembered and wound up going through Starrett City!! Anyone remember the Key Food? A couple of years ago I tried returning in person to the St. Laurence Parish a book I checked out in 1973 - they didn't have the library anymore and absolved me of the sin (and the fine). Remember school names of Mitchell Moskowitz, Acely Nelson, and how awful I was at playing baseball but people still humored me and let me be on their team.

Herb Rosenblatt here. I lived at 546 Snediker Avenue, one block from the Snediker Avenue park, around the corner from the Horowitz Smoke Factory. I presently live in Commack, NY, with my wife. I have three grown sons, one grandson and more on the way. I went to PS 190, Gershwin and graduated TJHS, class of ' 63. Where are all of you ' 63 graduates? There is never much written about us in the TJHS Alumni newsletter. We've already missed our 35th and 40th reunion. It would be nice to read some correspondence from some of you, on this site and receive some e-mail as well. Hi my name is Marty Flamm and I lived at 537 Miller Ave from 1957-1968 with my brother Scott, Attended PS 182, JHS 149 and Brooklyn Tech graduated 1969. Lived across from the former Linden Park on Miller and Blake ave. Used to play ball at the YMHA and baseball at Gershwin. Had friends like Mike Feinberg, Kenny Baum, lots more. I am Robin Werner (now Zarzana) and I lived at 195 Cozine Avenue, Apartment 6-C from 1964-1974. I went to P.S. 306, Yeshive Rabbi David Lebowitz and then we moved to Sheepsehad Bay. I went to Shell Bank JHS and Sheepsehad Bay HS (before it made the Mayor's list of the worst schools) and Brooklyn College.I taught at Ditmas JHS from 1986-1997.
